Caucus: The Discussion Forum, Hindu College, is pleased to announce that we are hosting Prof. Denis Noble, Professor Emeritus of Cardiovascular Physiology, University of Oxford, for a session titled "Biology Beyond Genetic Determinism". From modelling the heart for the first time using mathematics to delving into the roots of cramps using models of skeletal muscles, Prof. Noble has been one of the leading physiologists of our times. He is a pioneering figure in Systems Biology and has employed insights from the same to call for an "extended evolutionary synthesis". Prof. Noble is a Fellow of the Royal Society, an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, and an Honorary Foreign Member of the Académie Royale de Médecine de Belgique. He has received the Pavlov Medal and the Lomonosov Grand Gold Medal from the Russian Academy of Sciences, of which he was elected a Foreign Member in 2022. He also…
